Gen Z

Generation Z (aka Gen Z, iGen, or centennials), refers to the generation that was born between 1996-2010, following millennials. This generation has been raised on the internet and social media, with some the oldest finishing college by 2020 and entering the workforce.

What is the significance of this?

One thing I thought today was this generation is extremely used to using social media apps, and has a quality bar for products that is set at the level of user experience that is part apps like Instagram, or Snapchat, or TikTok.

So when this generation enters the workforce, will enterprise software tools match their high expectations?

I think there are some tools out there that will but I think there’s a huge opportunity to build new software that solves problems and leverages the existing UI from social apps that our future workforce uses all the time. Then, there’s no little to no learning curve for picking up new new tools at work, and our future workforce can be more productive.
